I just bought a set of Team Realtree Nikon 8x25......Very nice indeed. Just get ones w/ good eye relief, strong magnification, and multicoated lenses.....Water proof never hurts either. I wish mine were more like 8x40's....but they are pretty sweet.

I've been giving Vortex a good hard look.

Excellent prices for the quality of the optics.

I second the NIKON MONARCHS ATB . Go with the 8x42 for the more tree lined hunting ? 600 Yards or so ..
And 10x42 for the Wider and longer ranges..
Very nice and clear till dusk...

Nikon 8x42 for me too. Why break the bank when you can have a great pair of bino's for reasonable $$.

I like the swarovski 7X42, has perfect eye releif and no headaches after all day veiwing. You can find them used for 600.00, or new for around a grand, can't go wrong with these.

At the urging of Greg/MO.....I bought the Nikon Monarch ATB's in 8x42. Best purchase I made all last year, hunting-wise.
