I would suggest a High quality variable like a 2-7x33mmbecause your shots will range from Brush country to100 yards maybe a bit longer depending on your charge/load , I have a Leupold VX-I Muzzleloader scopeon my TC Omega whichonly ran me about$189.00, wheni upgrade
to a TCEncore Pro-hunter Hopefully this year i will be going for the Leupold VX-III 2.5-8x36mm. whatever scope youchoose GET QUALITY!

I personally own a Leupold Vari-X II and VX II. I have just puchased 2 Burris Fullfied II with Ballistic-plex recticles, after shooting my fathers H&R Ultra Slug with one. Can't say enough about the Burris, I think the optics are better than my Leupolds. Plus its a single tube scope, you don't get that with Leupold until you go to VX III and that a huge jump in price. For the price you can't beat a Burris....
My friend has Nikon monarchs and the Nikon Omega and I am here to say they are nice scopes, but I'm sticking to the made in the U.S.A. brands.
P.S. I think Natchez shooter supply, Midway USA,Gander Mountain, and Cabelas are currently running dealson Burris Fullfield II's 3x9x40's. For$189-199 you get the scope and your choice of binoculars or spotting scope.

the key words there were the most expensive scopes money can buy. i kinda looks like you have large pockets and can afford top of the line optics. but you are right buy the best optics you can afford.
