Okay guys before I spend my money I would like a few opinions as to which of these scopes would be better. Nikon Prostaff or Leupold VX-1. I am getting a 3-9x40 so any input would be greatly appreciated.

IMO the VX-1's are way way to overpriced. They arent anything special and arent made the same as the other quality but still overpricedLeupolds.
The Prostaffs are very good for the price and have better glass and coatings then the VX-1's.

The Nikon Pro Staff blows the Leupold VX-1 away...not even close.
If you move up to the Burris FFII, you have made a real nice upgrade, and you'd be better off comparing it to the Nikon Buckmasters line.
A Nikon Pro Staff is a great value and a solid entry-level scope. The Burris and the Buckmasters are even better, and if you can afford them, they're worth the price.

Okay I am going today to get my scope. I have narrowed it down to a VX-II, a Buckmaster, or a FF-II. If any of you can suggest one of these I would appreciate it. I am going to look through each one, but it is kind of hard to tell in a well lit store the difference in each.
