RE: How' d it go?

Attendance up, lines down, .... can it be that we are learning something here? Those extra people who shot on Friday should get most of the credit for how smoothly things went. WOW what a difference it made. The shoot directors have been trying to encourage more people to participate on friday for several years now. I think Mother Nature finally stepped in to give that final nudge. Combine that with the additional range for Pro/Semi-Pro classes and I think that we together accomplished what we all wanted, quality courses shot in reasonable time with great companions.

Keep it in mind for the next 2 legs, those that can shoot on Friday, should do so. The backups only happen when everyone wants to go out at the same time on the same day.

As far as Friday for semi-pro' s, the additional ranges were great, but additional manpower is in short supply. By keeping it to Saturday and Sunday they were able to shoot with their peers, and the available help was able to shoot on Friday. Best of both worlds.

Ken, you said in your first response to me that MBO was up? MBO compared to last year at Bedford, was down 52 shooters according to the scores page. This year Bedford drew 398 MBO shooters, last year they had 450. How can this be? Thanks, Jeremiah.

I thought the MBR was set a little shorter than I expected.Shooting across that valley pretty much did me in.
I thought the new targets were nice to pull arrows out of,but I' d never buy one.We saw arrows burying up to the fletching early friday afternoon.
It would be nice to see the ibo go to a 280 fps rule to make the playing feild a little more level.(There' s a post on archery talk about it)The 5 grains per pound really helps out the tall guys.
Overall I' m pretty satisfied with my $42 donation.:D

This may be a bit off the subject,BUT with today ' s bows, arrows, strings, etc YOU or anyone else has the capablitity to shoot 300+ if you want to. I feel it is IMPORTANT to encourage shooters and manufactures to strieve for speed (which will help this fall in the hunting woods with penatration and flat trajectory-clean kills with hard hitting bows). If you are having a hard time getting 300 fps, I suggest you stop by your local IBO Pro Shop and ask him to help you out.

I must agree with STORM1 on this subjuct.....at my local archery shop the new Hoyt bows are putting out some good speed.
I' m a 30" draw getting 315 fps and some guys at the shop are 27 and 28" draw ....they are getting any wheres from 290 to 310 from their new bows.

I agree with STORM1.....we are all getting pretty even in the speed catagory.
