Most of all the IBO shoots that I have been to only shoot McKenzie targets and the ASA shoots have the Rineharts.
I shot in an IBO Qualifier last weekend that had a mixture of both McKenzie and Rineharts (and I also think two were Deltas).
I understand that it' s up to the club to decide what targets that they shoot at club shoots, but is there a standard for World Qualifiers? Shouldn' t we all have to shoot the same brand of target? Not a mixture.
What brand targets are you shooting in the different parts of the country.
Just wondering.
BTW, I still qualified.

you are correct that the host club can use whatever target they have, as long as the ibo scoring ring is used.
the national triple crown, southern triple crown, and ibo world championships use mckenzie targets exclusively. i like that about the ibo.
i know of no guidelines for use of mckenzie at any local levels, or even state championships set forth by the ibo......

I think it should be a little harder to qualify for the " World Championship" .Last year I went to one and they were taking the top 20 people in our class;there were only 6 shooters in the whole class!
I could have went out shot one 5,then quit and I still would have qualified.
We might as well just send in $20 and get qualified to save a hour and a half drive.

IBO is in the first year of a three year contract for McKenzie Targets to be the exclusive target for the National and World events. We do not require clubs to use the same targets for qualifiers and other events, this as a requirement would be for many to be prohibitively expensive. We do require the use of official IBO scoring areas.
Having said that I would hope that whenever feasible the clubs would support all IBO sponsors. Without them this whole thing would not work.
