H.C Rules Question?
The rules for the H.C have always said that if a shooter win a world championship. That shooter cannot compete in the H.C the following shoot year. My question is about the Indoor World. Is the Indoor World considered a world championship. This same question has been posted on this forum before, but I dont think the person that posted it ever got and answer. I dont shoot the H.C because it is very top heavy, and I like the challenge of shooting 45 yds. But I do know a lot of hunters that I sometimes talk into trying 3d shooting. Since they are hunters and have very little experience judging yardage they decide to shoot the H.C. They go to a shoot and maybe shoot the best score of their life and end up in about 200th place. After that they figure they cant compete with 25 0r 30 up and they decide to just shoot in their backyard. And you dont have to join the IBO to shoot in your backyard. But this hole top heavyand forcing shooters to move up thing has been beat to death on this forum and Iam not trying to get it started again. Iam just asking why the 2005 H.C Indoor World Champion shot the H.C in 2006.

RE: H.C Rules Question?
I copied this from the rules section:
"If an archer wins more than once in HC at a qualifying event for shooter of the year, or wins either the National Championship or World Championship during any one IBO shooting year, that archer must advance to another class for the entire duration of the following IBO shooting year." Since it doesn't say Indoor World Championship, the answer would be you can shoot HC. If you win Indoor World and one of the Southern Triple Crown shoots - you would have to advance the following year. Hope this helps. |

RE: H.C Rules Question?
If you have a large number in any class (200) for instance and move the top part of that class to another class what does that do to the people that have established a ranking in that class that may be working their way up. This is not fair to the people in the other class and you are also taking away their right to choose. You are right that this subject has been beat to death but it never seems to go away. I shoot in a league at home where 40% of the shooters are shooting HC and I am sure that there are many other places that are expierencing the same type of numbers shift. Another class which we have established in our league is the range finder class and that to is growing bigger each week and we shoot 36 weeks a year and average over 100 shooters a week. I think that it is time to look at the numbers at shoots around the country and see if maybe it is time to consider sometlhing that may be being overlooked and that is what the majority want. If you make changes in the organization for what a few people want than you may loose what the majority is telling you through the numbers being posted. The only way that you can never make a mistake is to never do anything different. Or is it? Based on numbers the IBO is still the biggest and best competitive 3 D shooting organization, LETS KEEP IT THAT WAY.

RE: H.C Rules Question?
Ok,I think I understand. The "Indoor World Championship" is not really a world championship. Maybe they should change the name to something like "TheXI Shoot" or "The Ken andEJ Big Shoot" or "TheIndoor Not Worlds".What does it say on the award that a person gets for winning?I can see your point, it dosent say Indoor World Championship in the rules it just says World Championship. I dont agree with you but I understand where you are comming from. Its really kinda funny when you think about it. I have been to that shoot 2 times and each time I went I thought I was actualyshooting for a World Championship, and I bet all the people that have won that shoot actualy thought they won aWorld Championship.

RE: H.C Rules Question?
FastFletch, I will agree that based on numbers the IBO is the biggest archery organization. But those numbers dont prove they are the best. Its kinda like going shopping at Wal-Mart. A lot of people shop their because it is conveint, but a lot of those same people dont agree with Wal-Marts customer service. I agree with you that the majority of the members should influence the direction of the IBO.But I dont recall anybody asking the majority, or even the minority, what they think. Anyone can see that the numbers of shooters and venders are getting smaller. I didnt go to all the nationals this year, and you (FastFletch) only went to the 2nd leg, and your a state rep. I think people are finding out that they can spend a lot less money at the local shoots and have a good time. I know for a fact that the paybacks are better at the local shoots. Iam not trying to offend you,and Ihope I didnt. Iam just giving some facts, and my opinion.

RE: H.C Rules Question?
Why are the pay backs so small in such a large shoot as the worlds are they short on money??
|
RE: H.C Rules Question?
The rules state that the club that is hosting the shoot determines the payback. Alot of shooters think that the IBO determines the payback. But if I am reading it correctly its up to the host clubs. Iam guilty of blaming the IBO for the payouts, but according to the rules they dont determine them. The host clubs could choose to payback whatever they wanted. I might be wrong but that is the way I understand it. I also think that theclub officals at Bedford and Erie are on the IBO board. Iam not the only shooter in my area that feels like we are getting the shaft. It cost alot of money to play this game and things are not getting any cheaper. You do the math $50.00 X #of shooters. And if $50.00 is not bad enough they charge you $3.00 just to park your car.Someone or some club is making alotof money from us.

RE: H.C Rules Question?
Chris, I just did a quick search of the results of the 2006National Triple Crown Hunter Class 17 pages of names, 2006 National Triple Crown Advanced Hunter Class 4 pages of names, 2006 World Championship Hunter Class 9 pages of names, and the 2006 World Championship Advanced Hunter Class 3 pages of names. I didn't notice your name in the results, but maybe I missed it. Could you please tell me where you are getting your incorrect information from? That way I can correct you and let the other person in on the correct information as well?

RE: H.C Rules Question?
Rudy NYS State Rep, I shot MBR this year and last year I shot MHC. In my very first post on this thread I explained that I DO NOT SHOOT HUNTER CLASS. If you read my post and pay attention to them I frequently say things like " I may be wrong" or "the way I understand it is"or "this is my opinion". When I post something on here and I find out that it is wrong I post a correctionand when I post something on here that is totatly my opinion and could possible offend someone I will put my name on the end just to let them know that I stand behind what I say. So please correct me when I am wrong.I welcome your opinion,or anyone eleses. Most of the time guys like you are the only reply I get.The reason I am on here is to get information.
