ohiobohtr, you are incorrect. Last year there was a HC and a MHC. You had the choice of shooting in the hunter class for money (35 yards max) or the money hunter class (40 yards max). There were 12 pages of results for 2005 HC and only 1 page for MHC, but they both received money, as did the FHC and HF. They just changed the name of MHC to AHC. They were both money classes at the world's in 2005. It did not change when they made the money hunter class or the hunter classes wouldn't have been awarded money last year. And as for the FHC, why would it be fair for them to have to shoot in AHC if they wanted to shoot for money? They would be shooting against men. There is no female AHC.

Last year the (MMHC)was the 45yd Money Hunter Class. The (MHC) was the 35yd Hunter Class. Both of these classes = World Champion Buckles for 1st and checks forat least 1st ,2nd ant 3rd. The shooters voted to change the 45yd MHC to 40yd max. Thename was changed to AHC by the IBO.I saw the classes were listed as differentlevels of competition in the rule book this year but I didnt know the pay outs had been changed. Why would someone pay more to get less? The trophy classes receive awards for 1st 2nd and 3rd. I was also told that the 1st yearthis shoot was held at snowshoe their were 3000 shooters. This year their were only 1900 shooters. The person that told me this said that the IBO thinks that the numbers are down because shooters are tired of comming to snowshoe. I dont think people are tired of snowshoe. I love going to snowshoe my family (THAT DOSENT SHOOT) loves snowshoe. I think the IBO is out of touch with its members. We all pay dues to be in this club, and we all pay entry fees. But we are not included in any of the decisions that are made. I may be wrong but I get the feeling that as long as we pay are membership and entry fees no one cares what we think.

For those who obviously missed this post, I willrepost it here.

Ok, a little clarification here. It appears that the class you are referring to is the (HC) Hunter Class. Last years (MHC) Money Hunter Class was changed to (AHC) Advanced Hunter Class for this year. One has a cash payout directly to the champions (AHC) while the other distribututes the purse randomly throughout the competeing class. Nowhere in this years rules do we designate a Money Hunter Class.

The new rule books which have been in circulation since this spring, as well as posted on the IBO web site, clearly indicate the different levels of competition and what may be expected from each.

Under shooting classes:
Level One - Non- Competitive Classes (awards given at random)
This includes Future Bow Hunters (FBH)
Level Two - Youth Competitive Classes
This includes CUB, YMR 13-14, YF, YMR 15-17, FY, and YTRD.
Level Three - Entry Level Adult Classes (Trophy Awards and monetary awards (if offered) at random.
This includes: HC, FHC, HF, SHC.
Level Four - Advanced Amateur Classes (Eligible for monetary awards, Shooter of the year.
This includes: MBO, FBO, MBR, FBR, MBF, AHC, MCU, FSR, MSR, MCBH, X-BOW, PCBH, RU, LB, TRD, and FTRD.

Levels 4 & 5 designate semi-pro and pro divisions.

As noted in Judy's post prior to the tournament, the "M" or "T" before your class designation is simply a means for the data entry personnel to sort the results as they apply to trophy or the championship competitions.

This year with the adoption of the SHC and modifications to the AHC, the BOD felt that all of the steps had been taken to finallyremove the rest of the cash payouts from the top place finishes and add it to the purse randomly distributed throughout the class. This information has been published more that once and is outline in current rule books. All of the cash purse raised by every class is utilised by that class alone. In the classes competeing in the third level of competition, that purse is "all" randomly distributed throughout the appropriate classes.
The 2006 rule book has been out for some time and on the website. If you can post here, you can go to the website and read the rules - which I assume anyone entering a competition would do? Maybe not.

I think that the IBO DOES NOT want to loose any members but I also think that threats should not change the policy, rules and or regulations. People that quit an organization because of a difference of opinon on interpating the rules lose any chance in the changing any thing that they consider to be wrong.
If you think that you will be hurting the organization compare it to sticking your finger in a bowl of water and then look at the hole it leaves when you remove it.

The rule change might have been clear to those of you on the inside! But I guarantee there wasn't any of the 19 shooters that shot the championship finals knew there was only a first place award. Then to find out when your on the podiumyour receiving nothing .Why did they even call us up to the podium??It's easy to sit back after the fact and say you should of read this or done that. Put yourself in our shoes. For me the money isn't that big of a deal, it would have been nice to receive a plaque or belt buckle something to recognize the achievement. That would have topped off a beautiful weekend at Snowshoe.

I agree with all that there should be a payback in the HC but it does not say anywhere that you will recieve money. we are one of the largest classes and in spite of what some think it is a tuff class. alot of the semi and pro shooters admit that they would have alot of trouble shooting in our class. i would like to see a pro hunter class with paybacks for the top five or something in that order and be part of the shooter of the year program. was not trying to make anyone mad but it is very clear in the rules that we will recieve no paybacks and will not be in the running for shooter of the year. no one wants to be beat by a amature, make em look bad.
