Prior to going to the World you must first qualify unless you plan to shoot the Trophy round. When you go to the qualifing rounds to register I would show the regiestering personnel the equipment that you are using for the class that you are registering for and have them qualify or disqualify your equipment. As I read the specific qualifications for a bow I thought it was quite clear what was allowable. If you are working with a bowyer he should be able to interept the rule as to what is allowable. If the manufacturer is a private individual he may want to direct any of his questions to the AMO Companys or the president of the IBO for clarifications. No one person has written these guide lines and rules so I think that someone in the planing of the rules could advise you.
I am in no authorative capacity and am only offering my opinion in an effort to help. The class you are inquiring about as I know a few of these archers for the most part are only ingterested in enjoying the competition and expierence of shooting with other archers. For the most part they like to use the KISS method.

I may not know the answer that you are looking for as I have not seen the pictures or the bow. If some members of the board have seen the bow or pictures of the possiable problem and are unable to give you an definate answer I would suggest that you submitt the possible problem to the President of the IBO for a definate ruling. After reading the rules again I can not imagine what change has been made by the manufacturer that would be that hard to understand. If the difference is cosmetic there should be no problem. If the change is functional it must comply with the original concept of the modern day traditional bow as outlined by the BOD members responsible for making and enforceing the rules. This is not a "he said she said" issue but a question of following the rules. The BOD would have to hear any protest and I'm sure that one of them can guide you in the right direction. There has and always will be people that will try to beat you with the rule book for lack of skill. GOOD LUCK

Geesh-h-h!
We gotta talk about these things.
I just got off the phone with Gene. After talking several times with Levy and discussing this, WE agree that although this shelf looks different, it is in fact the shelf and not an elevated rest, as such, as referred to in the rules.
Also we are of the opinion (and are referringthis description to the entire board) that the wording referring to "no elevated rest" is superflous to the rule.
The rule refers to being shot from the shelf with a covering of no more than 1/8' thick piece of leather or similar materialcoveringthe shelf.

Thanks Bill.
Wish you were going to! I finally get back and you can't go.
Hope the move is working well and the family is fine.
Maybe we could move the Worlds to Reno next year?
Take care
Steve
