What is going on now ,we had everything good some years ago . Then the big meeting at snowshoe where Ken asked what we wanted for the classes to compeat at the 3di . Ibo did not listen to us at that meeting and went ahead with splitting the classes and making RU a 35 yard class . Then we start to get used to that and the next year at snowshoe they changed again to all at 25 and no string walking . I was told it was to get more people in IBO. Now they want to change again with this letter . IF you guys want to no why we cant get any more shooters its all the changing and crying in the trad ,longbow and RU classes that make people not want to shoot. It seem like if you cant win in a class you just protest or change the rulesormake a nether class so you can win.. I think some of us stick shooters think we will get rich by winning or some sort of shelf gratituide. We need to stop all the changes and shut up and shoot and have some fun, thats what it is really supposed to be about. Also this 3di stuff , nothing has ever been laid out to any of us on how we get to go,I dont feel this is a big deal and should be cleared up soon . Back to the letter, in the one I got it just talked of the RU and longbow changes , does this mean that TRAD guys our not aloud to go . Last year at the 2006 world champ Dave Hawkins won the TRAD div. and had the best score out of Trad, longbow and RU class for the hole shoot and all classes shot the same yardeges. Something to think about ,if you really want the best recurve shooter you need to include Trad also. Well just hope you guys can get these thing figured out soon .

There have been many conversations held by the competitors within their own ranks about this. We have been kept informed and are aware from many of the shooters of their desire to get the rulessuited to fit theneedsto include as many traditional shooters as possible. We would like to see these classes grow.
Any assumption that some of this input is not from the top level shooters is wrong.
These questions are also not directed at just one class.

So, from what Ken said in post the Trad shooters will be moved in yardage also if the vote goes through. Can Trad shooters go to 3di or not ????????

The letter asks what distance should Longbow and RU be.
25,30,or 35. I am having a hard time answering this by just circling just one of them because I think LB is fine at 25 and RU should be 35.

K N - I agree with you. Possibly all should write in their recomendations for yardage.

IT DOESN'T REALLY MATTER TO ME IF IT'S 25,30,35 YARDS I'VE SHOT THEM ALL.EITHER CHANGE THEM ALL TO THE SAME OR LEAVE THEM THE SAME. IF WE CAN DRAW MORE SHOOTERS AT 25 YRDS LEAVE IT. IF I WASLUCKY ENOUGH TO QUALIFY TO GO OVER I WOULD START SHOOTING THE LONGER YARDAGE TO BE ABLE TO COMPETE AT 30 METERS.
AS FOR STRING WALKING LEAVE IT AS IT IS, IF YOU QUALIFY AND YOU WANT TO TRY IT DO IT, BUT TRY IT EARLY IF IT WORKS DO IT IF IT DOESN'T DON'T.
IF WE'RE GOING TO QUALIFYAND COMPETE TO GO OVERWE HAVE TO BE ABLE TO GET THE RULE CHANGES ASAP SO WE CAN MAKE CHANGES IF WE HAVE TO.

That is the way it was, RU 35,longbow andTrad at 25 ,we went through all that crap way back when at snow shoe . Then a couple years ago they went and changed it again . It should have been left alone . We even lost some shooters because they took away string walking and from what I was told the over seas guys shoot all that anyway. You also can see theway the last team preformed at 3di ,the scores went way down cause they didnt get the longtargets. You just cant practice the long yardage at home and get the same has anational3d tourny.I feel we should move RU back to 35with string walking,face walking,the way guys use the point of the arrow or some gap system its all like using a sight , so string walking and face walking dose not make a big deal. Then leave LB and Trad at 25. IF a person wants to shoot the 3di then you have to shoot with RU . Ru is not a hunting class anyway ,trad and longbow should lean more to the hunters. And thats my huge opinion.
