I lost a few pounds when I cut my hair, so I'll vote for 60's & early 70's rock. I must admit blue grass is fun to listen to, live and outside. Just about anything but cRAP.

How about a hunting leasons. We could teach some locals on getting those over populated deer down to a healthy level. I was disapointed that the DNR??? has lett that kind of thing get way out of hand.

The DNR cannot step onto private property and dictate management controls. That would have to be a pretty special set of circumstances. Something about the constitution and prooperty rights.
The mountain has instituted a program to begin that effort.
But we (IBO and Shooters)do not know if the whitetail population is out of whack. We do know that we see quite a few deer in the ski runs and along the roadways. BUT, they plant a food plot mix (WestVaCo Mix)in those areas so that you will see the deer. The city folks that buy those condos like to see the wildlife. Heck, so do I. With that in mind watch your speed and look for the deer.

I like seeing them, they look pretty healthy and the trees seem to indicate enough food. Drive through areas of PA, there is NOTHING from the ground to 5 feet up.

I almost ran into one this year. Was out jogging on the 3rd day and was looking into the woods where I had seen deer the first two days, well there was a big doe standing on the edge of the road, almost ran right into her!

Once again I live at Snowshoe and as the one person commented, they want you to see deer so the easy solution is overpopulation in that area. Now you should know that up until recent years there has been relatively no hunting on snowshoe property so they are overpopulated in that area and I think that the herd does not get very good nourishment from the golf course grass that they feed on. The way to get tourist to see deer is to make sure there are lots of them and they have something to feed on and you have to realize that most of the people who visit snowshoe don't realize the size but when you bring in thousands of archers then you are hosting a different crowd that doesn't say "Ahh they are such cute little animals" but instead you have a more realistic view. The deer are not that thick and scrawnty all over though and besides the bag limit is increasing constantly to fight overpopulation
