Default What does it take to Qualify for IBO

A buddy of mine shot a 293 out of 330 this past weekend at an IBO Qualifier. I ask him if he qualified? He said he did not know, when he turned his score card in no one was at the table and he had plans with his wife and family. So he left. He shot the money release class.
So this brings me to the point what does it take to Qualify at a IBO Qualifier?

If he shot 293 score that is good score and unless there were 20 scores including ties he should qualify. He will receive a notice of qualification for the world from the host club when the total scores are all in and they have time to determine who the top twenty scores are. It may take a few weeks for them to send out the notification.

Good Luck.

Yes, it is the top 20 scores in each class that qualify. The Host Club has 10 days to get the results into the IBO office and we send the official World Championship Invitations back to the Host Club and they send them out to those who did qualify. If all goes as planned, the qualified shooter should have there invitations within 3 weeks.
For those who are going to the World for the first time, what you do next is make sure your invitation is filled out completely with your name, address, phone and IBO number and that the Host Club circled the class you qualified in. Send that invitation along with your entry fee to Snowhshoe Mtn. (the address is on the invitation) and around the beginning of July, Snowshoe will send your score cards and shooting times back to you.
And then the fun begin!

depending on the size of the shoot, all you have to do is show up and shoot. Some of the "less popular" classes will not draw 20 people. Some state IBO quals and local quals will draw 100-150 people and other than HC, MBO and MBR everyone will qualify.

top 20 scores including ties will get an invite.
