Default Smoked elk roast

I forgot to take a picture before I put it in the smoker, Here is is when it came out and was sliced for dinner. It was a little salty, next time I will give it a day less in the dry salt brine. It was about a 3rd larger before it was smoked.

Corn chowder with leftover cornbread from the chili. We kind of switched to whole milk for our drinking which we both grew up with but since have cut back to the skinny stuff that tastes like water. The whole milk makes much better chowders so we are going with that. At this time we both decided that we would go with what is best for today. Bought more wine today LOL

Some folks I'm guessing ate well this weekend. Some folks I know who commercial fish for a living.

Here they are having problems getting rid of the fresh seafood because of the state shutdown and isolation requirements. Some of them are giving it to the food pantries or the elderly now. No one traveling to buy it is putting an added pinch to it all..

I'm told that picture maybe from another time. I know folks are still going out. That's the one thing our idiot governor can't do is stop boaters from leaving their own docks. Well, maybe not Michigan.

We can take our boats out but only direct family can go with you. So you either have family or go by yourself..
