Well you know TDWW would try to take the credit for the snake growing so large saying that he alone wrote and implemented the habitat strategy that allowed to grow so large. He's a legend in his own mind, just ask him, he'll tell you.

I wouldn't be surprised if they killed a rattler over 7 feet, I've heard of a couple before. For him to hold a snake that was suppose to be that big out on the end of a long gig like that is the part I find hard to believe. That snake would probably weigh a little less than 15 pounds and at the end of a 10 or more foot pole it would be very hard to hold up. I've been in NW FL for about 36 years and the biggest I have seen/killed was a little over 6' 2".

Dude, if I saw a bigfoot I'd definately shoot it. Not as a preemptive strike, but because the only way I'd ever say I saw one is if it was in the back of my truck cooling off! I'd be the coolest kid on the block if I took a bigfoot! Think of all the Discovery Channels shows I could be on!

That is a very big rattlesnake. The record length for a eastern diamondback rattlesnake is over 8 feet.

Easterners are the largest rattle snakes in the U.S.(I saw that on Animal Planet watching with my grand-daughter).I also think they're protected?
