I always see pics of private ground big bucks, and they are awesome. but im curious to see some public ground big boys. so if you have any pics of any please post them here. i have a few but i have no way of posting pics from my computer yet.

I'd like to see some too, and not from private land open to public hunting. Show me an 8 ptr or better taken from an sgl or state forest east of Harrisburg, in gun season, this past hunting year.

I hunt a little bit on public land but I dont put my cameras there. Because you always have that bad apple in the bunch who will steal your camera. [:@] I am sure I am not the only one that will say that.

bullmoose- i dont blame you for not putting out your camera. we as hunters and good people cant leave anything out on public land w/o those bad apples out there who only care about themselves.. but i was thinking about seeing some pics. of some deer that were shot on public land also. so if you got any of them that will work..

I won't even put my camera out on private land. About the bravest I'll get is the small woodlot behind my house.

I never took pics but I have seen some slammer bucks taken off SGL36 in Bradford county the past 2 years.

One cabin had 11 buck taken and the smallest was a 6!! they had an 11pt a 10pt and a 9 and 2 -8's that were smashers!!!

Since AR i have seen a pile of em....no BS either!!

Ive seen some nice bucks also on public ground. i know in my area on public land the deer numbers are down. but 30 min. away on some private land my buddy hunts there are too many deer.. on the first day of rifle i saw one deer and 9 hunters. and i hunt 2 1/2 miles from the truck. now my buddy saw 130ish deer. he ended up shooting a nice 3 1/2 yr old 8pt. that was ear tagged by the PGC. but back to where i hunt i saw 2 dandy bucks preseason, but w/ so many people hunting 2 bucks its hard.
but i know the bucks are out there and i was wondering how many have shot many on public land here on this post. its not looking too good.
ilbback- i know AR works ive seen it, i just hope we as hunters can fix the HR problem, if people would do what i did shoot doe on private land where the deer numbers are high and not slaughter them on public the herd would be better off.. but i understand that its hard to get on private land this was the first year i was able to do so, but i asked 10 different land owners. and 3 gave me the okay to hunt doe. well thats my 2 cents.

I don't mean to sound bad, but why by something your afraid to use. I leave my two $70 game cameras out all year. They take just as good of pictures as the cuddlebacks sitting in your garage. I place them in spots where no one goes. I did catch a guy on one but he must have never heard or seen it go off.

I bought cuddebacks because of the quality of the camera. I had all the different cheap cameras and trust me they are not like the cuddeback. I had other cameras that took film. By converting to digital I am saving over a 1000 dollars a year.

Got this on state land in NJ. Also took an 11 pointer and other nice bucks on state land, but this is the only digital image of a NJ state land buck I have.

I had a close call the first friday of the season, but opted to pass for a better shot and never got one [:@] But the very next night, he came walking down the same trail, at the exact same time only this time he stopped in my shooting lane ;)

Don't have pictures of any but I seen 2 of the largest bucks I have seen while hunting on any state game lands or federal lands this past archery season. I hunt Federal land in NE Pa. (Delaware Water Gap; Monroe County). The last week of archery season I had a huge 10 point come to within 60 yards of me! This was a buck you see on all them hunting videos! He never seen me and never got any closer than 60 yards. He just walked by "wish I had my 30.06 instead of the bow" but that is how it is with hunting! The other buck was only a 6-Pointer but he was very high & at the least a good 20" spread! Had him at 25 yards and needless to say he came through within shooting range for me but the path he took was in some thick brush where I had no shot! And he came by a half hour after I seen the 10-Point.

speedmaster thats a good story about the two bucks. i saw a huge 10 myself this year but it was the one day i left the bow at home and took my shotgun for some fall turkey because the day before when i was bow hunting i had turkey all around me and couldnt get a shot. then i saw the buck and didnt even get a shot at a turkey.. thats how it goes i guess..

I have a lot of old public land photos, but since these guys have been told to shoot all these does ( which 60% are button bucks). I do not get any good photes.

nice picks guys i was starting to wonder if i was the only public land hunter on here, i knew some were out there, but not nearly as many as private land... and thats not busting on private land hunting i would if i could..

heres some public co DEER.... buck aint huge....it was my first...first year of ARs i think...taken of a sgl in venango co..all 3 taken opening morning by 9am by me and dad...the small doe on the left is dads....i took the doe while he was gutting his doe....then the buck a little later.....

Both of these were Shot in Centre County in the Bald Eagle State forrest.

1990 was the one on the right and 1993 was the one on the left. stopped hunting up there not too long after that....

Wow, those are some great deer. I am gonna have to try and find some pics of some of the bucks that have been shot off the SGL's around here. A few years ago a guy shot a 186" non-typical off a SGL and last year a 183" typical 15 point was shot off a different SGL! These are the two biggest bucks that I know of for this area! I have seen numerous large bucks around here on the SGL's, but they aren't a dime a dozen! Typically I see most of these in the mid-summer while fishing Two Lick Lake!

buck magnet- ive been out your way a few times and i notice there are a lot of farm land, i was wondering if there is much SGL near any of those farms or are most of SGL in the moutians area.

There is alot of SGL that borders farmland around here. On of my best hunting areas borders a SGL! Every year there are some brutes taken off these SGL's as they have some of the best bedding areas around here! Sure, these private farms that border them have lots of deer activity, but most of it is at night when the deer leave the thickets on the SGL's to feed in the fields!

Well its not a buck, But I did Harvest a NJ black bear back in December of 2003 on public land here in NJ. The picture is posted here in the NorthEast section under the heading "JERSEY BEAR MOUNT PICS FOR BOWHUNTERCOP"

Bullmoose, I live in and hunt all over Juniata county thats a heck of a buck for Game lands around here. I'm guessing he came from up Licking Creek or Shade Mtn?
