Geeez - Lets try to keep it clean and on topic. Everybody take a chill pill. I sorta like this thread. I'd hate to lock it up because of a mud slingin match between grown men.
BTW this topic can be named anything as long as it stays clean and ON TOPIC.

duck, what the heck does bullmoose's thread have to do with PA.'s deer managment plan???? Nothing!! QDM has nothing to do with the how our DCNR,PGC is managing our herd.
I am against our current managment plan but support QDMA 100%.
Bullmoose, Yes I know Rick, I just saw him on friday at our banquet.
ddear, about 10 minutes from my house there is a sewage treatment plant maybe 200 acres in size that before they permitted hunting you could count 100 deer easy and had many huge bucks even though the properties surrounding it received heavy hunting preasure. No matter what they did they could not get the deer to leave during dalight hours, they tried to push them out and the deer would herd up and just run around in circles. I also know of numerous other places in the past that were the same way. The deer learn where they are safe and will only leave their safe haven under the cover of darkness. Pike

bullmoose,
Those are some pretty good bucks. Where the two bucks in the first two trailcam pics. that you posted both killed by neighbors? Just curious...they look like the same bucks that are in the 2nd, 3rd harvest photos on the second page.

Those are some very nice deer. My issue is how do you know they are a result of QDM practices? What was the deer take like before QDM was started on your property? The reason I ask is because 5 or 6 years ago, a group of neighbors up my valley started posting their land to QDM. They do all the QDM stuff like food plots, harvesting of does, letting anything less than an 8 ptr walk, and not one buck harvested in the last 6 years came close to looking like any you showed pics of. I'm still not convinced QDM works.

I know it is working because a few years ago you would see an occasional buck that would score 110. Now last year alone I knew of 9 buck that would score higher then that. The deer have just been getting bigger and bigger.
We harvesting deer that are commonly over 200 lbs. Which a few years ago it was rare to harveast a deer over 180. So its definitely safe to a say it isn't by dumb luck. QDM will work if done properly. The main thing is you got to give time for the buck to grow.
