Lost Horn: here's a "fact" the PGC told us hunters: 3 years in a row of record anterless harvest yet the herd increased in size. Now !!! they say "maybe we should wait till a count is done to determine if what hunters are saying is true"
What were they using for research for those "facts" before the count?

Audubon, DCND, The streight tree growers, You know the list is a lot longer, That's where their facts came
from.

let's not forget the PGC gets such accurate deer harvest counts from visiting butchers and report cards.....yeah that is presice counting isn't it?
Seems to me I recently read were a society of professional wildlife biologist review the method the PGC used to calculate deer harvests and it was widely accepted. Now if I could just find that article so I could link to it.

I gotta admit I think fishers, otters, and other animals being reintroduced is neat but I'm not sure it's a good idea to use hunter's funds to pay for these non hunted animals.Or maybe the money comes from somewhere else?

I have no problem with projects like fishers, otters, saw whet owls, etc. that is why we have the PGC. But I do have a problem with how the deer mangement is going, it is exactly hunters dollars being spent there, not timber company $ not flower sniffer $ not hikers $ but hunters $!
And the MAJORITY of hunters want to see more deer! and could care less about mythical big racks programs that never panned out at the expense of mass doe kill offs!
