Doe shooting in Pa

I have heard many opinions on this subject. The bottom line is to fix the problem at the source, That is the people that support the PGC and the PGC. We have to make them reduce the amount of doe license.

Welcome to the board. Wow - this topic has been hot for the last couple of months. I'm sure you'll get all kinds of feed back. I generally stay out of them because it gets pretty heated.

why? the deer herd is right where it needs to be. why reduce the numbers, then the doe numbers would go way out of control. if you have ever spent a whole deer season in the woods, the deep woods, not right off the road, you would see all the does. right now they are where they need to be.

Ok, please define "deep woods" as you see it.

I have to laugh about this one. "Deep Woods". How many times have you heard a hunting story inwhich the guy says he either "hiked" back into the woods about 1-2 miles or how he had to drag the deer about a mile? Has anyone ever walked a mile? A mile is ALOT farther than you realize. It's not like driving a car. Even after scouting, stalking or whatever doing in the woods on a hunting trip, you'ld be very surprised at how much you had walked but yet so short of distance.

Mark, I would like to think that our opinion has some leverage since we are the ones that buy the license each year, but consider one thing. How many doe tags were sold last year? Now at $7.00 resident and $27.00 non-resident for each tag, how much revenue did the PGC generate? That's how much they can piss away this year and they are hopeing they can generate even more next year for the same general fund. The PGC is not interested in the well being of game in Pa. They are looking for the big bucks and what could be better than to print their own money, a doe tag. [:'(]

Except for NC PA, if you walk in 2 miles, you will walk into hunters from the other direction, or cross a road. How about another old theory?

It's a shame Mark, but I don't think they care about customer service.. And as long as there's a deer somewhere, we will still be buying licenses.

I have to laugh about this one.

I got news for ya, there are not too many places in PA where you can walk 1-2 miles without running into another road, house, farm, or some other Private land.

Get Real !!!
