Default mild winter in PA

Not much snow or ice this year, that's good for the wildlife. Some areas had an ice storm which broke tree limbs which=browse.

Are you sure you didn't hit cancel by mistake? If it was deleted it would say so like the post below. Also I'm sure you would have been informed if it was not appropriate.

Was up in the James Bay area in early Dec. for winter caribou. Waist dep snow and a high of +3f and a low of -11f with - 40 wind chills during our hunt. Makes me appreciate our winters here!

BT,I do enjoy snow but if all this rain was snow we'd be 12 feet under.
I'm starting to wonder if this rain will ever stop?I hope it stops for the sake of the turkey poults.Think we'll be under a drought watch this summer?

Sad thing about it though, the DNR will tell you that the reason the deer kill was down was due to inclimate weather. That's usually their excuse everytime the kill is down or they want more deer harvested.

This year the deer harvests in areas like 2G will be down so low people are going to be alarmed.Unless the numbers are fudged.
Other then that, gunshots, sightings, buck contests, butcher shops, and taxidermists tell the story.Yes some bigger bucks might have been killed but all indicators say the harvests are way down.Last year the excuse was the snow cover which is bass ackwards. In the past we had record kills with snow cover. This year it's the warm weather. No wonder they're losing credibilty with the hunters.
