million hunters march
Let's have a million hunters march on the PGC offices in Harrisburg. Like a million moms march etc. that will at the very least get media coverage of our gripe with the deer management issues!

RE: million hunters march
seems like you may get maybe a 20-30 hunter march. there are a lot of PA hunters on this forum, but the large amount of complianing and "revolt" comes from a select few.
good luck with your march. let me know how many you get. |
RE: million hunters march
I'm sure if they recruited from the whole state, they could get 50 at least;)

RE: million hunters march
If anyone wants to know what PA hunters really think about Alt's plan ,just go to " Hunting PA.com " and check out the AR forum. More and more hunters are disgusted with what Alt's plan has done to deer hunting in PA, even though the PGC says that there hasn't been any herd reduction in the past 5 years.

RE: million hunters march
deadeer: allow these few horn hunters to strut they do so knowing that they are in the minority. that the tide has turned against Alt's ideas that just have not panned out.
If the NJ United Bowhunters are as acxtive as Pa United Bowhunters they have no more clout than the Pa Cougar sightings Association with the PGC. UPB have lost every issue they have tried to confront the PGC with,i.e. no mz season in October, no crossbows in archery season except for handicapped hunters, etc. Hunting in general especially deer hunting is headed towards a low point in Pa. It rapidly is becoming a sport that if you belong to a club with owned or leased grounds you will have good hunting. If not and you rely on the PGC to manage Gamelands or State forests there will be next to none left in a few more years. Me I'm one of the lucky ones I own land that ajoins family owned land we took steps this year to preserve hunting for us. directly related to actiuons of the PGC. |

RE: million hunters march
Oh we kill nice bucks here in Pa no doubt to that, but we have ALWAYS killed nice bucks here in Pa and just as many 2.5-5 yr olds were killed 15 years ago as are being killed today. You take too much imfo. from the PGC propoganda machine to heart!
Back in the 50s-70s most hunters around my place wouldn't even draw back their bows on less than 8 pts. If you listen to Alt you'd believe every buck killed then was a 3" spike and every buck killed now is a 20" 10 pt. not so. BTW did the United bow hunters of NJ keep the bear season open over there? that 1000 posts from <1% of hunters is but a drop in a ocean. But the silent majority has begun to voice their opinions. Trust me one can hardly stop for gas or a trip to the grocery and not hear several conversations by hunters that revolve around their bitterness for Alt. Heck not far from my place they have a dummie hanging by the neck with a sign on it that reads save a deer kill an Alt! |
