Squabbling about organizations and what they can and can not do is futile and a waste of time. Regardless of the size or strength of an organization there is not one who has won 100% of the battles they have fought. Additionally, not every one will fall 100% in line with ones thoughts. I do not hunt PA. I have spent considerable time in PA and pass through rather often. I have seen less deer while driving through over the past few years. However, the common theme in the Northeast seems to be sightings of less deer in general. I have hunted WV, NY, NJ,NH and ME over the past 2 yrs and the message from the locals is they are seeing less deer. Perhaps poor management all along in addition to increased development and degraded forests due to over population over the last 10 years has something to do with fewer sightings. Perhaps not. Two common themes in the States I mentioned fewer deer reported by locals and increase in commercial and housing development.

Perhaps a petition with suggestions to solve issues can be circulated by yourself at local convienience stores and gas stations. Leave them there for a month and then send them in. Arrainge for some news paper coverage to announce your kickoff to increase support.
A pure bitching petition or march will fall on deaf ears. One that is informational and offers solutions will be better recieved. It takes only one snowflake to start a blizzard. Good luck.

mz season in October
If I remember correctly, the UBP did not oppose this. Reason being it is part of sound deer managament practices and the UBP will not argue against sound biological management practices.

UPB have lost every issue they have tried to confront the PGC
So much for the 2 weeks of archery in November or the 50 yard safety zone for archery hunters.

WOW that's impressive! let me ask you this ...loooooooong before this org was ever formed how did the PGC manage to go from a concurrent rifle/archery season /to a 1 week season /to a 3 then 4 week season?????? you want to try an convince me that was becuase of United Bowhunters ( of which I was one at a time, or the PPBH of which I was a past vp then co. rep for many years) maybe you'd like me to believe that the ranks of the UBP aren't disgruntled about MZ season in Oct and why the org didn't take a stronger stance against it . Better reread your newsletter that is IF it ever gets out, or go back to the BOWSITE

Bowsite is a joke. Looks like that is something we both agree on.

If I understand you correctly, the seasons you are referring to were before the UBP. I never said they had a hand in what you are saying.

As with any organization you can't please everyone. I understand not everyone is happy with the early inline season. All I said was the justification the UBP used for not fighting it. Don't shoot the messenger!

I'm not saying I support or oppose the UBP. Just telling you what I know or have read.

It's easy to say for certain that the 50 yard safety zone and the 2 weeks extension into November would NOT have happened without UBP.

Have they always gotten everything they wanted? Of course not. Is there a bit of elitist mentality among the UBP hierarchy? IMHO there is a bit of traditional archer snobberyin some corners but it's an organization that has done way more good than harm.

supporting, or at least not opposing, good management like the early muzzy season, even when it may not fit their own agenda is something they are to be commended for.

Oh yeah, I agree that Bowsite leaves a bit to be desired.
