Here's the alert.
Here's a link for a print and sign letter to mail in. [link]http://www.tnusanj.com/Comments%20NJAC%20amendments%2011%204%20%201%206%2 0(1).pdf[/link]

"SPORTSMEN ALERT"

DEP Commissioner Campbell is working to have state law say -- in writing -- that he (and future commissioners) should be allowed to deny permits for hunting/fishing seasons that are approved by the Fish & Game Council.

If this were to happen, it would effectively give Campbell the power to end hunting and fishing at his whim.

Below is information regarding the proposed change. Please make the contacts specified under the public comment section.

If this change passes, the Fish and Game Council would basically be rendered powerless. A public hearing concerning this proposal will be held on:

Tuesday, January 4, 2005 from 9:30 A.M. until close of comments at:

New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection
401 E. State Street
Hearing Room, First Floor, East Wing
Trenton, NJ 08625

Submit written comments by close of business on January 14, 2005 to. Alice A. Previte, Esq.

Attention: DEP Docket No. 24-04-10/480

New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection
Office of Legal Affairs
PO Box 402
Trenton, NJ 08625-0402

Guys I was trying to bring serious attention to what could happen if Campbell gets his way on the 4th of jan. But on the flip side saying you would go out anyway and breaking the law is not right either. Yes most of us would be devastated but that would be a fight we would need to handle right. Don't forget many antis come on these sights and print out things that are said here. The UBNJ has already had stuff printed on a website used against them to try to shut a hunt down.

Bottom line is we have to defeat the threat on the 4th and enjoy hunting into the future. But we need to show hunters are stand up citizens and love wildlife more than any anti ever could.
Put in for a Personal Day on the 4th today.
