looking forward to it. three days off, and my 11 year old will be there days two and three. he can't hunt yet, but he's really pumped about it.

The only thing making this year exciting is my attempt to take a doe with my pistol.

I'm ready to go. Just sitting at work day dreaming about the opener now. I'll be heading to 3b. I'm excited just about getting together with some friends, playing some cards, drinking a few and telling some good deer stories (lies or not ). Bagging a deer is just the iceing on the cake.

Yeah, rain is forecast for all of PA, temps in the 40's to low 50.

That translaes to snow in my neck of the woods, Clinton County, top of Beech Creek Mountain.. I am pumped this year....

Gonna have my 12 year old out for his first opener and still gotta keep the 15 year old in sight. I don't get too excited about rifle season but getting to share that "first day magic" with my sons has put the thrill back for a little while.

On that Thursday I head to Quebec for Caribou. It's gonna be a good week!

We've been seeing a lot of nice bucks but I only have two doe tags. The other 6 guys in our camp have their buck tags so I'm hoping that they can score a few. I really hope someone gets the big nine pointer we saw on Saturday night - it would score in the 140s (not bad for PA).
