I was just down Md for the last 3 days hunting. Cost me over $100 in gas alone. To come out to Frederick would add much more to that as I will be down there that week and the week after also. Seeing how I have a new property to learn I think I will have to pass it up, man gas is killing me [:@].

I thought we were tight man!!! you gonna stand us up for your wife?? just kidding man, good luck with the house hunting, its a pain! lefty how was monocacy today, was there alot of people there? I hunted my farm in carroll co. saw a spike, a 4 pt, and a 7 pt very early, about 7:15 I was surprised to even see that as nasty as it was, I had my goretex suit on and my tree umbrella up (dont laugh I love that thing) didnt get wet at all, was worried a little about the rain getting on my 209 though, I guess it will be ok (hope so)

Who all went out today? I was out all day in Howard County and only saw 6 small doe. Can't being myself to shoot something that is smaller than my dog. :)
Mossy, I luv my umbrella too.
I think I have to give T/C Arms a call. I have the Encore 209x50 in stainless and synthetic. Around lunch time I took a good look at it and there were a bunch of surface rust spots on the barrel and ram rod guides. I tried to get rid of them tonight with some cleaning solvent and gun oil but they are still there. [:@] I bought it because it is supposed to be more weather resistant. GRRRRRR.
How does Monocacy work with permits? Is it daily/annual? How many peeps are allowed in there at a time?

RE: MD Hunt Final Preperation

I saw 2 other hunters on the back side of Monocacy yesterday. I had to cut out early, the little piece that holds my 209's broke in the morning when I got up in my stand and put my primer in.[:@][:@]. I kept droping primers out of the tree if I tilted my gun back at all. I decided to call it quits at 9am, I walked out of the woods and into the back corn field and there stands a nice 8pt in the bottom feeding. I crept up to about 150 yds, but twice the primer came out when I pulled the trigger, so it was his lucky day. I got my gun fixed and went back out in the evening and saw a small 6pt but thats it. Taking a half day from work today so maybe this evening I will have better luck.

As for the hunt on the 5th, it looks like its gonna be the Lefty and Mossy show. Oh well they will come next year when they see the biggn's we bag!!!

I finally got the monkey off my back, and shot a 90 lb doe this morning, all I have been seeing is small bucks, I've seen 7 different small bucks, I just hope other people around me let these little guys go this year, man will it be good next year. So far I have seen a spike, 2 four pts, a 5 pt, a 6 pt, and 2 sevens, all were year and a half olds. I know there are at least 2 monsters in there (at least mid 120's one may go 130) I cant wait til rut, they will be running everywhere.

I won't be able to make it, I have to leave for Texas tomorrow morning and will be gone until the 9th of November, last minute thing. Maybe we could have another hunt later in the season I will have two weeks off of work the day after Christmas. Best of luck to you all!!
