Hey ...new member here ...been keeping up on this thread as I am new to NJ hunting ...been hunting for 20+ years in north central PA bear turkey deer ...hunted NJ first time last year in The Gap w/ shotgun for buck/bear ...got two real nice bucks, no bear
Anyway, I have been hunting/scouting/learning bow in Assunpink since mid-sept ...wow, what a great place to bow hunt deer ...tons of sign ...tough to pattern early season though w/ all the food options ...I have seen a few nice ones and one trophy (seen him twice ...guessing 140+)
Can anybody tell me what to expect in permit bow and shotgun season in Assunpink? I have seen very few hunters (a few trucks parked here and there and I actually talked w/ one woodcock hunter) ...I can imagine it gets tough to hunt bow when pheasant /quail come in ...Does Assunpink get pummled in shotgun season?
I don't know your feeling about pushing/driving deer in bow season, but I'd be game to hook up w/ you guys ...kinda missed the best time for pushing 'em, I guess w/ the rut coming and all
Enough banter ...best luck to you all as the season continues
