I don't know what most of you have available for shooting ranges. Here in Maine most folks just find a gravel pit, set up target(s), guesstimate range and make the best of it.
I have long had a dream of a well established shooting range (possibly indoor) with clearly marked ranges for both handgun and rifle/shotgun, a hunting & shooting supply store, and an ice cream store all in one package under one roof. Sorry, I had to throw the ice cream business in. Just another addiction I have.
Of course part of this dream is that all of the services and supplies are low cost and open to the public.
I never expect to see this draem come to pass in this state but I'll keep dreaming it just the same. Some day, just maybe.......

Isn't there supposed to be an NRA "Supercenter" of sorts that is close to what I described? I remember all the talk about one in the planning stage a few years back. If it is in place does anyone know where? How can we talk them in to putting one together up this way?

Two Troopers that I use dto work with opened a shooting range, training center, after they retired. its on a major highway near the state capitol. You must pass training by them to get a carry permit. NRA sanctioned, busy, busy, busy all the time.

Of course if there was such a facility in my area I would probably end up divorced. My face would be on milk cartons as noone would see me for months at a time. I would be the "kid in the candy store" just walking around with this weird smile on my face.
Maybe I should stick to the gravel pits.

I think thats a great idea! In our town we have a small range, it only goes up to 100yrds. And theres one in Scarborough that is 200yrds. So an indoor range is a good idea. If you made it near to everywhere I'm sure lots of people would join, I know I would love to. I'll be your fist member!
