Default Shed hunting in NJ

Just wondering when you guys start looking for sheds here in Jersey. I figured around February into March. I'll be checking out a few places in Monmouth and Ocean county and figure it will be a cool thing to do while scouting.

I've talked to shed hunters from all over that are finding sheds right now. However the best time to find them is from March up until everything greens up in your part of the world.I know a guy that frequents another shed hunting forum that lives in the dakotas and found fresh sheds on Dec 19th of this past year.I've also talked to number of hunters that have killed bucks this year and when they started dragging the deer the antlers came off in there hand.Personally I'll be out tomorrow looking even though we have snow on the ground.

it is very possible that u can find them early, like now..b/c if a deer is wounded it will shed its antlers earlier..for example my dad shot what he thought was a doe in mid december..turned out the deer had sheded its antlers.

Nice website KoBear! Starting to get ideas for next year. It'll be a nice project my son, Joe & me can do together. Thanks for the inspiration.
