My 2002 Buck Mount
I also posted this on the deerhunting forum, so I apologize to those of you who have already seen it, but here are a couple of pics of my long-awaited 2002 buck. It was at the taxidermist a long, long time, but I'm pleased with the way it turned out.

thats still a very pretty mount. the face on that thing looks very short. my friend shot an eight in PA that had a real short face. is that characteristic of your deer herd there?

KoBear, I may be mistaken, but the short head seems to be the form that was used for the mount. I thought that the head (and neck for that matter) was bigger on the actual deer. You might be able to see what I mean from this picture. Hmmmmm.....

Nice buck!
I do see the difference between the actual buck and the mount. The mount looks smaller for some reason but the rack is the same!!
I shot a nice jersey buck that weighed 150lb and his mount looks bigger than the Illinois buck that weighed 215lbs. The taxidermists have different molds/etc.

Now that I've looked at it a bit on the wall, I've come to the conclusion that the angle of that photo on the wall makes the head look even smaller than it really is. Here's a side view of the mount, so let me know what you think:
