NY hunters - how many deer did you take last year?
 

Got a conversation started on another thread about how many deer NY hunters take. Just want to know what hunters actually take each year. So how many did you get last year and in previous years?

1 - last year
none for the 2 years before that
2 - 4 years ago

4 does and a buck..1 with bow, rest with 20ga. shotgun. After feeding the landowners, i only have 2 in the freezer:(...but a small price to pay for good land to hunt! i wouldve given em kobe beef if i didnt get a deer!

my buddy in Owasco - out of 5 hunters: last year and year before -
~5 deer/yr.

10:D, 8 with the bow and 2 with the rifle. All but one in area 2B The other one was in Pike County Illinois.

4 two seasons ago.
Most years four.

I could have shot at least three more this year.

A friend of mone took 10 this season. He got the two bonus tags when they were offered in 7S and filled someones doe permits for them. He shot four on Thanksgiving morning with out getting out of his stand. All four were one shot kills and died in sight.

As far as hunting buddies go it went like this 2,5,4,5,4 and 1.

All of these were bucks. But could get more if we had DMPs in my WMU.(5A)

Yes in New York you can accept two transfer DMP tags from another hunter.

One Buck w/bow - One mature doe - shotgun.

Our hunting party shot the same number of does we always do (5 or 6) on 180 acres but only 2 bucks this year.

Still not bad - very close to average - usually we shoot 3 or 4 bucks - last year 5 bucks - 7 does.(last year was above average harvest). We still pass up ALOT of deer here.

We do think that the deer population was down from last year - which is a GOOD thing as far as I'm concerned 40+ deer/square mile is too much on the habitat.

JUST 1 DOE HAVE A LOT OF MOOSE IN THE FREZZER.COULD OF KILLLED MORE.
BUT AS A GROUP DOWN ABOUT HALF.

I had a great year, saw 94 deer from my stands took 8 shots got 7 deer passed on 42 shots bow hunting only.
Only saw 14 bucks Largest being a 7pt, I hunted very hard almost every day, and every hour I could spare.
Also my hunting buddy Don got 3 deer 2 does and a 4pt. Spending time with friends doing what we live for I couldn't have asked for a better season.

For the last 5 seasons:
2003 = one (7pointer)
2002 = one (doe)
2001 = 0
2000 = 0
1999 = one (4 pointer)

2002 = 0

It's a good day of hunting just to see a deer on state land during gun season.

Last year: 1 me (doe, shotgun), 1 doe my dad
2001: 2 me (doe, bow; doe, shotgun) 2 doe my dad
2000: 1 me (doe shotgun); 2 doe my dad
1999: 1 me (doe shotgun); 1 doe my dad

2004: 1 BIG BUCK WITH MY BOW!!! (I'll take any trophy w/my bow!)

6 here. I shot 5 with the bow (a 9 pt and 8 pt and 3 does) and one 7 pt with my shotgun.
