I saw this on another site and they picked it as fake. They compared shadows and stuff.

Looks like a wolf more than a yote to me.

The pix isn't coming up for me. Based on what Wimp is saying, I think I saw this on two other websites. I believe it's laying next to a 7pt and there is snowflakes in the air. If so, it was picked apart on both sites.

It does look too big to be a coyote. A coyote half that size would be a whopper.

This is the first time I have seen it. It definitely is a huge animal and the controversy surrounding it would be something that I would expect.

looks like a timberwolf-malamute hybrid to me. I'm sure it was someones pet that got loose. People have been breeding them for years around the country. They make great pets if raised properly. Shame that they allowed it to run loose or escape.

The state record coyote in pa was taken by sheri batey in mansfield pa it was 60lbs. that record has stood for 10 years now i know from experience the largest one i have taken was 52 pounds we get between 50 or 60 a year the 115 pound coy dog 1/2 wild 1/2 domestic dog some ones male dog found a female coyote in heat. it is not a true coyote

If it was from Maine, it would be more believable, since up here the 'yotes have wolf genes in them. Considering this was supposedly a pic taken in PA, I'd say the odds are that there are some domestic dog genes in there somewhere. A full blooded coyote just doesn't weigh that much! A coy/malamute could easily reach that size however, and that's what it appears to be IMO.
