I saw 16 deer total. That is actually more in just 2 hours than I saw almost the entire rest of the season. One was a small 4 pointer and the rest were does. I could not get a clean shot at any of the adult does so I did not take anything on Saturday.

There is always the late season.

i only got out on opening day , i saw 7 does , one is now in my freezer , i didn't see any bucks ,my cousin who was hunting over the hill from me saw a four pointer running with a bunch of does he spent so much time scoping the four pointer to see if it was legal ,by the time he relized it wasn't he couldn't get a shot at the does.

I scored on a 9pt the 1st day w/ an 18 inch inside spread.

I was helping out on drives the last day - walked up on a bedded 8pt that had a great rack. He'll be a dandy next year.

I got a button buck back in the early muzzleloader
season. In rifle I got a 3 point half rack. I only saw
7 deer in 4 days of hunting.

I dare anyone to tell me that deer hunting public land is better now than 10 years ago.
Ok Ill bite, in the area I hunt in potter co. there arnt as many deer as when I first started hunting, however we take the roughly the same number of bucks, now however instead of the srub 3pts or spikes, were taking some really nice bucks.
The 3 three bucks we took this year were all 2.5 year old deer and had nice racks, heck the one 8pt was the biggest deer ever killed in our camp ever, and thats since 1970.

I saw 14 doe and two bucks opening day, one of the bucks was a small eight. After that, I saw fewer deer each day until the last two days I hunted, I only had to share the woods with a couple squirrels on those days. There was little pressure and the deer found a quiet spot and stayed away from areas of hunter activity. I am waiting for muzzleloader to try to fill my buck tag.
