Gotta agree with slippery here. Been in and around zone 27 for 35 years and never heard it called little Kansas. Where are you hunting in 27 slugman? I'll be out there every day, but probably doing more patrolling than hunting, we have serious trespasser problems and I'm bringing extra handcuffs with my hunter orange this year.

Maybe they will violently resist arrest. I'm getting tired of the minor slap on the wrist that trespassing brings. I want a charge with a little more teeth, and maybe dish out a short stay in the emergency room to go with it. ;)

6-day firearm is no fun for me anymore, it just brings out the worst people, and I spend all my time chasing people off our posted land and writing summones for trespassing.

"POSTED, NO HUNTING" means just that. I can't understand how some people can pass a hunter education course without being able to read.

Saw about 35 deer Monday in Zone 2. Couldnt get the sights on a wide 4pt but really enjoyed the day. Our club only took 3 bucks with my Dad tagging a nice 7pt. The deer moved like ghosts!

I had my afternoon sidelined when 2 guys came across the property tracking a big 6pt. The deer was pushed quickly past my stand thru the cedars and then in front of antother member who missed 3 times.

Lots of shots and quite a few hunters in the area and on the road (Rt23).

AT 6:45am I HAD A BEAR UNDER MY STAND, BUT SINCE THEY CLOSED MY AREA DOWN FOR THE HUNT, MY BEAR TAG WASN'T GOOD. 5 MINUTES LATER MY FRIEND CALLED ME ON THE RADIO SAID A DEER WAS WALKING TOWRDS ME, I LOOK OVER MY LEFT SHOULDER IT WAS A NICE RACK BUCK, NUMBER OF POINTS I'M NOT SURE, BUT HE WAS ON THE OTHERSIDE OF THESE PINES AND I COULDN'T GET A CLEAN SHOT. FEW HOURS LATER I SEE TEN DEER ABOVE ME, SEE ANTLERS ON ONE THEY ALL RUN TOWARDS ME, BUT AGIAN THEY WERE ON THE OTHERSIDE OF THE PINES, 9 DOES, 1 FOUR POINTER, THEN SAW NUMEROUS DOES. AROUND 1pm I'M LOOKING OVER MY LEFT SHOULDER, LOOK TOWARDS MY RIGHT AND I SEE A 4 POINTER LESS THEN 20yds. COMING TO ME, AS I ADJUSTED TO MAKE THE SHOT, MY STUPID SAFTLY HARNESS BUCKLE SLAPPED INTO THE METAL OF MY TREESTAND, HE WAS IN THE NEXT COUNTY. 1 HOUR LATER AS I WAS LOOKING DOWN HILL I SEE A DEER, IT TURNS OUT TO BE A 6 POINTER, AT 20 PLUS YARDS I FIRE, HIT HIM RIGHT IN THE LEFT SHOULDER WITH A SLUG, HE RAN ABOUT 200yds. HOW I DON'T KNOW. MY FRIEND SEAN LEFT HIS TREESTAND FOR A MOTHER NATURE CALL, AND WAS ON THE GROUND DOIN HIS THING WHEN I SHOT, SAW THE DEER COMING, SHOT THE DEER WITH HIS PANTS DOWN, AND TIOLET PAPER AT HIS FEET!!! I WAS LAUGHING SO HARD!!!! HIS SLUG IMPACTED THE DEER TOUCHING THE SLUG HOLE I SHOT, SO HE SAYED THAT DEER WAS DEAD BEFORE HE SHOT, BUT I SAID YOU DOWNED HIM, YOUR DEER. IT WAS A GOOD DAY, HOPEFULLY THEY LIFT THE BAN ON THE BEAR HUNT TODAY, I'LL BE OUT WEDNESDAY, THRUSDAY, SATURDAY.

took my brother to zone 21 greenwood because i didnt want to head up to my bear hunting area because of the deep snow. against my better judgement me and my brother hunted near a main road and some fields. we had 2 different gun clubs come in and drive by us before 9.30am. my brother was pretty pissed because he has never experienced this type of hunting in massive scale 50- 75 guys. one guy asked if it was o.k. to shoot does and another as they were driving past my brother said i bet we ruined your day[:@] they should ban that type of hunting on opening day or at least make driving legal only after 12.00 noon or something. i got to get me some property:eek:

The opener is always crazy--especially on State land. My Dad and buddies went out yesterday but no one connected. Everyone saw deer and there were even a few decent bucks still running around.

Sat should be a mini repeat of Monday.
