First of all congrats on the move steve. I have been trying to get my wife to move out of NJ as we are down the shore but seems to be quite difficult. Well the best thing to do is to go to a hunting store or if you can get to cabelas go there with your checkbook and ask a lot of question. They will match you up with the right equipment clothes ETC. You will have to find some areas to hunt but a local sporting goods store can get you going in the right direction.

Good luck.

First off go to a local hunting store and ask some questions about where to hunt in the area, check state game lands maps at http://www.pgc.state.pa.us/.

Then try to find out if there are any gun clubs in the area. (Chances are you won' t be able to join without a member to sponsor you) GO to shooting events in the area. Those gun clubs that won' t let you join will gladly let you participate in target shoots. Maybe strike up a friendship at the shoots or at least establish some recognition.

As far as turkey hunting in general. Read up do some homework find out what calls work good and when. Camoflauge well that is a great debate there ASAT does mean all season all terrain.

Sales people are in the business to sell you something be it calls, camo, rifles, or other things. I don' t recomend driving to Cabelas and asking. They are retail workers and the majority of the people there were not very knowledable about hunting. You would have as much luck asking the bag boy at the grocery store. Same with Dick' s, Sports Authority or any other large chain store.

Find a farm that has a good amount of deer on it, then ask the farmer nicely if you can hunt there.
