Late PA season
#1

Late PA season over for me. I started out about 8:00 this morning and it is now 3:21 as I write this. I was walking this whole time and covered maybe 6 or 7 miles basically looking for fresh tracks in the ice covered snow. This was the same as the last 2 years. The usual haunts where I always see deer or tracks there was almost nothing. All I was able to see were about 5 sets of very old tracks and only 1 of those I could determine that it was a deer. The other 4 could have either been deer or coyote. Zero definition in the tracks and half filled.
I wish I knew where these deer go when the weather gets nasty. I have a suspicion that they head over the next valley where there are some farmlands.
The muzzy is all cleaned up and put away.

Our camp had an overall good PA Season.
But I didn't. I took one little doe the last day of the rifle season. Never saw a legal buck. And after the first day we didn't take any bucks at all.
Our numbers are a little skewed as we took two 7 points and a 5 point off one drive the first afternoon. Without getting "lucky" there it would have been our worst season ever.
I did see allot of doe and plenty of small buck. So hopefully next year looks a little better. One afternoon I saw five illegal bucks. So there's hope.
