Default 2021 Target Buck

I never saw him while hunting, but I did get him on camera around Christmas of 2020

Define target buck?

Will you be after only that buck this year? That one or one bigger it it comes by? Or just hopeful to get that one but will take whatever?

Gonna be a nice buck for sure.

Well if that's your plan I wish you success. For me I get a lot of buck on cam early in the year but by the time hunting season rolls around they have changed their habits. There have been many times when I wanted a particular buck but ended up shooting a different one. Sometimes bigger, sometimes just a nice buck. I almost always pass on lesser buck during archery season. But if a lesser buck presents a good shot and provides some excitement I will take the shot. To me its the experience and the excitement of the hunt that counts and not the size of the rack.
But praise God I've been fortunate enough to shoot nice buck during archery season for the past several years. I can't remember the last time I shot a deer with either the bow or the muzzlelloader.
