Thanks bronko. I had a big 12pt walk by me at 11am the day I shot my Bear stand 20 yards broadside and laugh at me. Of course I was in the same stand 2 days before, last day of Archery. LOL. I went back up to hunt that spot first 2 days of rifle. When I went back to setup my climber on Sat I found my arrow that was broken off when the Bear rolled 2 times with BH. Thanks 4 the heads up. I never did see that 12pt rifle season. Man that Buck will b a Monster next year. I hunt Pike county by the way. Thanks again. I'm still hurting from this one!

Took a 7pt in 4a. Shot him at 11.57. He was following 2 does. Least amount of shooting I have heard in years. I do have a doe tag as well.

I'll be out this Saturday close to home. Spent most of the fall turkey hunting with my pup, she's catching on quickly and I enjoy walking with the dog more than I do sitting in a stand for hours at a time. I killed a doe in PA archery, and a buck & doe in NY rifle, so the motivation for more deer meat isn't that high, but the weather looks nice this weekend, so I'll give it a last hurrah.

Pityful season this year, archery as well as gun season. First day of gun season I saw a 3point and never saw another deer until Saturday (doe season) where I only saw 2 does and a spike. The deer are there, just no hunters to kick 'em up and get them moving. I hunt a gamelands in Greene County where usually the first day of rifle season the parking lot has 9-10 trucks, this year only 3. They just don't hunt like they used to, and the deer wont move during the day if not spooked or driven.

I got the same problem were I hunt in Pike County . I seen a BIG 12pt in the spot I hunted Bear Archery. Its a 2 mile walk and a short canoe trip to get to this spot. I don't see any hunters and its so thick and so far the Deer never get pushed. I hunted first 2 days and did not see a Deer or Hunter . I think the 12pt made it thru and if he did? Next year he will be a MONSTER. All ready dreaming about hunting him. You right RF. They just don't hunt like they used to.

My dad shot a decent 6 point, my cousin got a nice 8 point. Another guy got a smaller 8 that I don't have pictures of. Our group had a pretty decent season.
