I am a pre-computer age type of guy!
I didn't know that if the State says lic. go on sale on June the 8th you could go on line at midnight of the 7th and buy them????????
Also you can get DMAP tags on line right after midnight????
We tried to get a DMAP tag for an area for 5 years and can not get one. It is a state park. We ask people that work there how to get one, this place has 100 tags, they said they can't even get one and have no idea how to get any of them!!!!! Well, now i know.
You can call me stupid, but i had no idea that hunting lic. would go on sale before store hours opened!!!!!! See,i'm old fashioned? So,
I WANT ALL OF YOU PA HUNTERS TO KNOW THIS TRICK!!
When i found this out i was really pi$$ed,so i am posting it everywhere i can.

When you buy a hunting license on line in PA, you are not buying the license from a place in PA, you are buying it from a company that owns the computer program that creates the license and they are in another state and create and sell licenses for many states. Thay are staffed 24 hours a day. It is not a trick that you can buy a license @ 12:01am the day they go one sale, it has always been that way since point of sale license sales ocurred via computer.

I heard another hunter complaining about this as well. He went to get his DMAP permits to "Save some deer" and wasn't able to because they sold out so quickly. I guess lesson learned. Get them as early as possible if you want them.

Oldtimr,I would have tried to use it! I wanted it because the area we hunt is split by 2 Wildlife Management Units. Unit 2E and 4-D,we hunt right on borders and i wanted it to cover me if i were in either unit?
I hunt because i enjoy it not for the meat.

Mounting man, what you are refering to was not said regarding your op, it was said to Boca talking about a guy trying to get D-map tags to "save" deer, meaning he was not going to use the tags, just get them to keep someone else from getting them.
