Default WV Earn a Buck Question

We may take 2 bucks with a bow here but before the 2nd is taken we must take a doe. Do we have to buy a tag for the doe or how is that handled?

Thanks

yes, I've thrown a fit about it but you must use a tag you purchased, my feelings are they should give you a tag if you tag a buck and have purchased an additional buck tag, I told the guy at the check station last year when I tagged my 10 point that I really didn't want a doe, he said if you have a tag I'll just write you up a tag for a doe and you can kill another buck......I just walked out.

I should have figured that, WV DNR does everything with money in mind. I also hunt VA and they are far more hunter friendly.

Leo, I am in the Eastern Panhandle, Hardy County. I hunt Hardy and Jefferson (which is my home county). I also hunt VA and far prefer to hunt VA.

haven't got to hunt va yet, we're bow only down here, and no fall turkey...

oh well, i like bow hunting more anyway, and the deer herd is probably larger because of it.
not to mention most local hunters go north so they can use a gun, making my odds a little bit better.

I want to retire. Love to hunt so what your saying is to stay out of WV because of the seasons?

not at all. down where i am, the deer are almost like cockroaches during the rut.
it's paradise, if you are the outdoor type.
