Maine Moose Bonus Points

When does it open to purchase just the bonus points towards a Maine Moose Tag? Last year I purchased a point, but can't re-call what month I did it. Not ready for the hunt, just adding points over the next few years and will treat myself to hunt hopefully when I retire

Some of the information is available on the Maine
Fish & Wildlife site but it's not ready for either
putting in for just a bonus point or for the
actual draw. My advice as a Maine resident that has
helped folks from Ca, NY, Penn. and NY along
with many of my Maine friends and relatives
take their Moose over the years--- don't
wait go ahead and apply, it's worth taking the
time off if you draw and it may take a few
years of applying to get that elusive tag.
If you want to discuss this more directly. feel free to
contact me [email protected]--- I'm happy
to help anyone with the draw process/best units
etc. Should be open to apply soon, this is latter
than usual.

Thanks, I was on the web page just couldn't find anything as far as applying, just thought maybe I was over looking everything

I contacted Maine's Fish & Game, they informed sometime by the end of this week Moose Lottery and Bonus Tags will ready to apply for

Thanks, this is so much latter than normal, I
was considering giving them a call myself.

Maine 2014 Moose hunt applications are now open.

Putting in with 15 NR points this year. With the weighted point system should have a realistic chance soon, maybe 5%. It's tricky to leave a gap in my hunt schedule should I draw some day. The season is short and I'd certainly want to fit in some serious scout time.

Zim,

Congratulations on all those bonus points, your getting there,
best of luck in this years draw. I hope you get a tag, you've
earned one.

Actually I felt like I robbed a bank when I was able to draw out in New Hampshire in 2012, and score a nice bull on the 2nd to the last day. With just 190 tags my odds were only 1% there. http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/Hunt...t_gallery.html
Being able to cash in my Maine points someday would just seem like a bonus to me, even though they offer way more tags.

Damn, I only have 10 points, I'll just put in points for next 3 years than start throwing money at it in hopes to draw in 2017.
