Pa doe permits ???
This is the first time I have ever put in for a pa doe permit. I put my pink envelope in the mail mon aug 6th... So I hope I did that right...
And how long does it take to hear something? |
i thought the send in's ended in july. i could be wrong though
|
What unit did you put in for? You should have your tag mailed back by mid september. Aug 6th was the date for the first round of "unsold" license. WHich means most residents and non residents have already sent in for their first doe tag. You get whats left over. Here is an update on what units still have tags. https://www2.pa.wildlifelicense.com/deeravail.php

Correct, it was the 9th. 2nd round is in august.

You can still send in. Just do it the same way you did your first set. according to that link 2D should still have over 11,000.

If you go here https://www1.pa.wildlifelicense.com/start.php
click on the first dot which gives you the ability to check the status of your application. Follow the prompts, enter your CID # when asked and you can see if the permit has been awarded. |
MrL any update?

Check the DMAP stuff. There are some good areas left with tags. State Parks, State Forests, some others. Usually the private farms are worthless that are listed. Some of the DMAP areas straddle more than one Management Area and are pretty good the second week.

Really unless u r a PennsALTarian one is enough.
|
Did you get one? I got mine in the mail last week.

My sons and I got ours yesterday, so they are being sent out.

Some county clerk offices are slower than others, but you should have gotten it back by now.

I you wanted to buy up all the Doe tags in 5-c you would need $743,700 !!! thats 111,000 doe tags!!!! you think thats enough to wipout all the Deer in 5C. there are so many hunters in 5C that kill deer just for the sake of killing Deer. Com'on man who needs to shoot 4,5,6,7,8 plus deer a year. It happens all the time in SE PA. I know some JACKA$$ that shot 13 a few years ago and he don't even eat Deer meat. Its such a JOKE and SAD!!!!!!! Keep killing boys. OHIO HERE I COME!!!!!

I used to live in 5C until about 5 months ago. Plenty of deer there, you just can't get at them. It takes a couple of really big deer to fill a freezer. I bone it all out and grind a lot. Even with a head shot an 80-90 pound deer probably only leaves 40-45 pounds of meat. I try to shoot at least 3 every year, and I don't try to pawn it off on other people. I pick up road kill too, if it is not hit hard. I have lousy places to hunt. Nobody wants to hunt there, until they find out you are killing deer. Won't do them any good. Timing is everything. Best time to kill deer in populated areas is between 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. I shot 3 doe last year (2 at same spot) and could have shot more. I don't know how many different buck I saw, but could not get a safe shot. (Could not bow hunt last year) Most of you would not believe the lousy spots I hunt and kill deer. I was the same way a couple years back, I would not change hunting areas or methods. If you want sit around and whine about no deer you are just going to be screwed.
