Nice site Mike and Dennis.

Any moose hunters scheduled for this season yet?

Good luck out there!

Now I have Bull Moose number 6 walk by my trailcam. This one walks by 2 days after a cow had walked by it.. Although this could be the same moose that showed up close at night.. I do not think it is but, who knows..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFeyS...hannel&list=UL

Good Luck to those able to legally hunt!

I went 0 for 6 as a ME resident in the tags department.

Good looking critter. Any guesses on his weight Phil?

What time of night was he cruising by?

I can not say for sure of course but I am guessing around 900lbs dressed as he is a big bull. The video is not all that clear which could be weak batteries or dew on the lense. Our nights up here has been cooling down pretty good creating a lot of fog.He is clearly a big guy though with the more narrow paddles. All these moose are traveling a trail that would be easy to get loaded on the trailer to haul out. I am hoping that I will draw another permit someday with what the trailcam has been showing me.

I checked my card it says 1:06 pm so I am thinking that perhaps I have the clock off by 12 hours as it is clearly dark.. So I am thinking it is 1:06 am.

I am going to revise my guess on the wieght after having him come in to better video. I am having a difficult time actually at trying to guess the wieght on this bruin. I look at his rack and think most likely 750 to 800lbs. Then however when I look at the size of his neck and he is still in velvet I am thinking at least 900 or better. I am also trying to figure out is his hump is almost non existent. This clearly places him up into the heavey wieght area. I figure where his neck and head meet it is about the size of a steering wheel. That has me guessing perhaps on the high side of things but I am going with 950 to 1000lbs dressed.

I am heading up sept 21st with my friend who got a nonresident tag. He is from Maine and now lives in Mass, but he is no Mass-hole, and he scored a non resident permit. We are heading to his sister's in Camden for the first night, then saturday am we are heading up to the camp we will be using, it's 3 hours from Camden, and 30 miles on a logging road. He has a good group of local friends and relatives that will be helping him, and this group has always been successful. Last year they tagged out the first day by noon.

I am not the sub permittee, so I was hoping since we are there for a week to get a license and a bear permit and get a bear.
