It was bad. We saw barely any in the woods, and took only a few out of the group of about 8 of us. Season was way down. I don't think that's unrealistic

I hunt pretty much the entire gun season. 7 days a week. I had no problem seeing deer. Only difference this year for me was seeing the larger bucks. I usually see at least 3 130 class bucks, except for this year. I did not see a one. Saw plenty of 1 and 2 year old,s, but nothing beyond that. As far as seeing the ladies, , no difference for me than any other year. Saw enough of them. What I do notice is the significant decline of hunters. They are just not out there past Thanksgiving.

I hunt han**** n.y. seen a few does during the bow season and 1 nice young 4 pointer
The gun season over in chenango county first week my son took a doe and I seen a few does and some small young bucks,I did pass on all the deer I seen.I also did notice for the state game lands after saturday the opening day not many hunters in the woods on sunday.Monday no one and seen no deer I find after 45+ years hunting is a dying sport back in the late 60' 70' 80's you seen lots of hunters and DEER on Monday the opening day and another great week on thanksgiven weekend todays system of hunters are over after the first weekend.
I did waite until the M/L season to take a young doe with my B/P rifle for meat otherwise it was cold snowy for the last year B/P season.
I hope this year the DEC will allow a early m/l season during the southern zone,I also heard you MAY be allowed to use ATV on state game lands or snowmoblie trails as long at the ATV is Reg: and Insured????any on have any info on it

Bow season is not split by trad and compound. If they want to split the guns, keep it in the gun season.
