Caught some of the meeting today on the pgc site webcast. They went out to lunch, Its coming back on at 1 oclock for anyone interested. Found it interesting they didnt allow us to view the public comment portion. Damage control again, didnt want to give the "complainers" the air time i guess.

I highlight red the issues I caught being discussed.
So far this morning theyve discussed a few issue. First was predation on deer from coyotes (and limited discussion on bcat and bear as well). Rosenberry gave a segment on how insignificant it is here in pa. A commissioner told him WV says it can be significant. He said he didnt understand why when they are right next door. Rosenberry didnt have an answer.
The next issue was the birth control policy. 2 commissioners gave noteworthy comments. Commissioner Delaney said He thinks its HORRIBLE that we are addressing using a pesticide on deer....said he thinks so whether or not "WE VOTE TO APPROVE ITS USE TOMORROW".
Then another commissioner, couldnt tell who because of the blurry picture quality, said "I WILL SUPPORT THIS TOMORROW".
Putnam made comments stating he approves staying the course and highly supports not using deer density vs. current system.
Another commissioner i think was Boop, said why are we so different in not using deer density goals when most others are....Rosenberry stuttered awhile not really answering the question. Then pointing to Wisconsin which really still didnt answer the question.
Rosenberry was asked if theres any intention of changing wmus size. Said no, in not so few words. Also said it would be a few years before they even consider evaluating anything in regard to wmus period, as the "plan" is based in 5 year increments and was last done in 2008 . But there is no intention because he went on to support the current size units and same trumped up reasons for denouncing the smaller ones.

"Is it time to concede a license increase?"

Got the sound on but watching it is like watching paint dry!
Like the idea of a bobcat tag for anyone who wants it and the shorter season but wish they would make it later and get it away from flintlock/late archery.

He he he. Yeah i hear ya. Topic matter currently is a bit dry. lol. They might be done with all the deer talk i guess prior to the last break. Turkey talk now... C'mon maryjo, wrap er up! lol.........z-z-z-zzzzzzz.
I like the b'cat season opportunity. But not as proposed here in 2A. Numbers arent near what they are across the traditional bcat range. According to their chart there was a whopping 2 taken here last season. Being an experienced trapper and predator hunter, i dont ignore the bcat pop here. Its not high.
As for the "deer talk" probably was a wise choice for pgc not to show the disgust of hunters. One speaker against the deer plan threw his notes and a book down and in disgust said, i gotta get outta here, and left in a hurry. Thats according to someone who was there earlier.
