Snuck out for the last two hours hoping the warmer temps would have em moving. Only saw one, a very respectable, probably a shooter buck, came in and bedded 80 yards away around 4 and was still there when I finally gave up and snuck out of the woods. I had cover to help conceal my exit so I don't think he busted me. Whats funny is that he bedded about 10 yards from my other treestand. Oh well, maybe next time. The good news is that makes two decent bucks still hangin around where I've been hunting.
Whattya think Greg? Is it worth goin out again? :sheep: |
If you don't kill them they will be even bigger next year. Remember, that is what you tell guys that are satisfied with 1.5 buck.

Yep that's very true. Thats why I said he was probably a shooter. I wont be sure till I have him closer. If he walks by again and I feel he needs another year to grow some more, I'll give it to him. If he then walks by a guy who wants him, and gets shot, thats just fine too. I like to call it "Catch and release bowhunting" |
That's fine with me, but why do you feel the need to belittle and insult those that are happy with a spike or a Y? Do you practice catch and release with pheasants or grouse?

I've already explained that I have no problem with a hunter being happy with whatever he shoots so long as it's legal. I have never criticized any man for the deer he harvested. As a matter of fact, I try to congratulate every hunter who posts his success stories or photos here. I'm sure I miss some but I try to post congrats when I see them. I do take issue with the type of hunter who criticizes, belittles or insults another hunter for preferring to take a doe over a small buck. I didnt quite say it right the first time and Many Spurs pointed that out and I corrected my words. Perhaps you missed that. Sometimes it seems maybe you should read these posts more carefully. |

That simply is not true . You have routinely attacked and belittled anyone that chose to harvest a spike or a Y over an antlerless deer. Since I have been the target of many of your misguided attacks I remember what you said. No matter what you say now you can't deny you distain anyone that is happy with a spike or a Y. |

No, that is not true. You complain about not having any legal bucks, yet you revel in stating how you killed 5 buttons in one year.

I beleive the posts are still accesable. Of course your screen name was deaddeer back then. Maybe you should do a search and refresh your memory What I and others criticized was your first complaining that HR would take out a higher number of button bucks with the does and then admitting to shooting 5 BB's out of 6 antlerless deer and justifying it by saying that was all you saw to shoot. It wasnt simply about shooting button bucks. It was the hypocrasy of complaining about it and then admitting to doing it yourself. I take it you've not been able to find anything to support your stories so I'll ask again, please stop the hijacking. |
