Default Rut status in NY

So whats the status of the rut right now in NY? Is it over? Are bucks still looking for does? Im going up this weekend and it looks like its going to be the coldest few days up there so far this whole year (its still going to be 25-35) but still, its colder then it has been all year.

Whats going on?

Its been very strange here. Deer all over chasin' and ruttin' the last week of bow season, and then saturday hits and its like they knew and just stopped appearing. I, however, believe that the rut will start again the last week of gun here in NY and into Muzzleloader.

Probably going to be very spotty depending on locality. Most bucks I see in this time frame havent seemed too doe oriented, more food oriented. But if you get an unbred doe, or one having a late heat nearby things can change.

Default bucks

Very weird hunting season to say the least ,
I seen 3 different bucks in early bow , muzzle loader seasons ,
Have trail cam pics of a couple shooters , but have never seen them in person ..
I,ve seen bucks with does eating , during bow , them a couple weeks ago I seen smaller bucks on the move looking for a hot doe then haven't seen one for 2 weeks until last night , but by the time he was in range it was to late ... aarrrgghhh ....
Getting down to the nitty gritty ,, Looks like I may have to get out the muzzle loader for the first time in years ..
Wish me luck ....

As strange as it may sound, very much like fall turkey hunting
