Gang,

I have hunted every day since the opener, and have only seen a few small racks. Some nights I would see 20 deer - but no shooters. The last two nights were slow. This morning, proved to be a charm...

But first, a little background... I had this boy on film from the pre-season...





At 7:00 AM, I had a doe right under me, and all of a sudden I hear a "Snort Wheeze" coming from the standing corn next to my stand. I instantly saw some corn stalk moving, so that had my attention. Then, I heard two grunts - not heavy, just social.

The next thing I notice is a doe busting out of the corn. I perform a "Snort Wheeze" with only my mouth, and the corn comes alive! The buck - unseen at this point - was thrashing around. He emerges from the corn and turns to follow the doe. I emit another "Snort Wheeze" and the buck turns and walks right to me. He was 10 yards away, downwind, with only 1 canister of tinks's # 69 permeating the air.

I let my lucky arrow fly (same one that just bagged the fox).

Ta Da! After a lengthy tracking job, the monster was mine!! Notice the rack, it's the same buck as in the trail cam pic!
