Damn, couldnt have hit that one any better:happy0001:

are you guys in bow or gun season now up there?

absolut40 11-06-2009 03:32 PM

Its still Bow season up here.Gun season opens the 21st.I wish i could hit every deer in the same place i hit this one,he went 30 yards and did a nosedive. The hole you see in the pic is the entry hole, those slick tricks are one nasty broad head.

I've hunted the last 2 weeks everyday. Deer movement has been great till 9:30-10am. Mid-day and afternoons much slower. Last hour of daylight is ok but not great, but bucks have been on their feet. 7:30-8:30am has been the best for bucks seeking and chasing. TONS of scrapes and a few rubs. For me on my land buck to doe sightings are 3:1. Lots of yearlings and 2 1/2 year olds..with a few "good" ones as well...Things have for sure slowed up the last few days compared to a week ago. I had over 20 bucks within bow range this year and passed on a bigger one than I shot. Kicked myself in the ass watching it walk away too. The one I shot had ground shrinkage, but I had seconds to shoot or watch him walk away too without a shot. No regrets though, pretty tasty! Good luck to fellow NY'ers..

Thanks

Appreciate the info, MJR10.
Sounds like a lot more deer activity than I,ve been seeing up here in Northern NY .
I did see 2 bucks this morning one at 640 and one at 950 am .
Also had a camera near another stant and had a 4 pointer walk by at 909 am ..
Cant be everywhere all the time ....
Were starting to see more bucks on the move all puffed up and smelling the ground in search for a doe in heat
Up til now Ive seen them eating along side of the does .
No shooters yet although I ve got a pic of one on my camera last week ....
Cant wait till Saturday morning now ...Good luck to you to ...
