Default MA Opener!!

Anyone toss any arrows today?? I had a button and a doe at 20 yards but by the time I realized the BB did have nubs Mom had moved out of range. That BB was as big as mom and almost got shot.

It's starting to get cold so things should pick up quickly. I did see a couple of tentative scrapes and a couple of rubs so we will see. Good luck M*ss*oles.

Hey Guys!

I Went out this evening for opening day in MA (Cape Cod) Got the blind set up on the corner of the field around 3:30 and sat there patiently. 6 p.m. here he comes, out of this little marsh area into this tall grass. Well I was expecting him to come further out into the field where he frequents but no luck. Instead he sat 50 yards off the whole time, munching on grass and walked off to my left. Nice tall 6 pt with decent mass to him. Looked like he bit on a branch and did a small scape before he went into the brush so I think I will watch him for another evening and if he hits the same spot I will move my ground blind. Being from upstate NY I never thought I would see deer of this quality especially on cape cod. I will keep you guys posted and post pics if/when I stick him!

finally starting to see some scrapes around here in southern Mass. and the bucks are starting to show themselves at weird times on the trail cam (2pm). This is definitely a positive sign. As for me, i haven't hunted 1 minute yet. Been overloaded with work that i must catch up on because I'm leaving on a Kansas archery whitetail hunt on Halloween. After my return i'll be hard after those bucks, since the rut should be busting loose. (Nov. 9th)
good luck fellow m*ssholes..............i'll be in heaven on an 8,000 acres Kansas farm. Does it get any better than that?

I'm back from Kansas. Didn't shoot the big one. I passed on 12 different bucks in the 5 days i hunted. Then when i lowered my standards a bit on the last morning, i shot right under a big strange looking palmated(sp) 6 point @ 26 yards....................ugggghhhh!!!! oh well, it's not about the kill it's all about the hunting. It was fantastic, tons of deer and lots of fun with friends and family. My buddy took a nice 8 pointer that broke off his right side brow tine to make him a nice 7 pointer. Not a giant but definitely a nice deer with the bow.Wow are those deer big bodied in Kansas. Which makes missing all that much harder to swallow.Oh Well, archery hunting can be very humbling. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v4...=IMG_00481.jpg
