You have got to get your thoughts out of the "how do i profit from this " arena.( profit im sure has something to do with the inclusion of x-bows in "your" state) (mine as well i might add),,Nothing happens in state ,,local,,,,or even federal govt without the concern for profit,im sure we can all agree on that,,but where my problem exists with your argument is here,,,you are blaming an inatimate object!!!,,,,the x-bow has nothing to do with your ability to see or not to see a F'N deer! END OF SENTENCE! When are you and everyone else who decided to decimate the deer herd in Pa. going to just MAN-UP and say "i take responsibility for over-killing year after year and i will no longer post blame on someone or something for my actions". Why cant anyone be held accountable for their actions anymore,,,,why does it always have to be someone else's fault?

Hey Rem; how's your archery season going?

To many tags, to many hunters, to many seasons, to much oppurtunity. The blame lies squarely on the shoulders of the people who set the seasons and allocate tags.

Ad now we have a new 6 week season with a superior weapon without the slightest benefit of any scientific research to show that it won't have a negative impact on our herd.

actually it has been void of activity,,,,the weather has been hot and i have come to the conclusion that butcherin deer with the fly swarm has gotten old,,,(maybe like me). I have been putting the last 3 weeks into fall food plots and trying to get my son straight on his school work,,,he has a real good chance at playing college baseball if i can get him past hunting deer and his new found love of women (he's 17 and the ole man really aint the most important thing in life anymore) I have a new area to hunt here with the boys and we spent the last two weekends getting ready for the rifle season building a 6x8' box blind for a semi long-range shooting house. Im actually ashamed of myself for not going hunting,,,but it's does only and i can probably wait until the 3rd of oct to get the season started right,,,(we have some good bucks on the game cam and i dont wanna bust em out shootin does)

I hear you! I hate those warm day's myself and getting old too! Seventeen,I remember that age. He's at the age that you might want to keep him under lock and key,( women wise) that is Good luck to him with his baseball and you have a good season. Let us know how your season went.

I have never once blamed anything other than our Game Commission for the current state of our deer herd. You have provided me with nothing I haven't already known but thanks for the attempt to clarify the obvious.
My issue is with the PAGC and their carefree attitude towards the deer herd. For your information.... I have never shot a doe until I started managing my own property. I have never shot a doe on public land and I did not contribute to the slaughter. The issue is this.... we did not need a new weapon when our deer herd is in a "stabilization program" across the majority of our state. What was needed was the herd reduction to have ceased before we got to the point we are currently in. If the PAGC would have been doing right by the majority of hunters all along there wouldn't be half the anger there is towards this lastest kick in the guts we received. We need emphasis put on timbering for habitat instead of profit and getting back to doing what the PAGC's sole purpose was when being created= protecting and managing the game animals in Pa, not just turkey and bear where it seems the majority of their efforts have gone while the #1 big game animal in N. America (which more hunters are interested in hunting has been managed so wrecklessly.

You can never underestimate the damage the human factor will inflict. People cannot be expected to do what's right, they will always do everything to the limit they are allowed hence the need for a game mangement agency.

Kinda hard NOT to blame them when we are paying them MANY millions of dollars every year to manage our deer herd, and all we are getting is gross abuse of power and mismanagement.

I agree with that. But, don't you support QDM which endorsed the PGC HR plan?

Because they have but a smidgen of the number of hunters that we have.
