I have two DMAP permits, one antler less license and a buck license with a muzzle loader stamp. So, I hope to harvest three antler less deer and one legal antlered buck. If I don’t get the buck I will try to use that tag on an antler less deer during the flintlock season.

If all goes well I will put four deer in the freezer this fall.

I hunt in NY and we have a short season compared to some states. During bow season, if I have an opportunity to shoot, I do. It doesn't matter to me if it is a doe or a buck because I don't get a lot of second chances. If I get a deer during bow, I try for the buck first and then go for doe during shotgun season.

I'll take a Vt doe with the smoke pole if I get a lottery draw.

I'll take one in one of my areas. I hunt three different WMU's. The other two will likely be a "get out of the freezer" free card. Good luck to everyone hunting this year, just use some discretion with your doe kills and don't get meat greedy. We hunters have more eyes out there in the woods than the PGC will ever have. You can see where the does need some harvest and where they don't. The ultimate management decisions are made by each of us individually when we pull the trigger or loose a arrow, so everyone do your part, whether it is taking one for the freezer, or letting them walk.

I've been saying for years its up to us as hunters to do whats right, I'm glad others feel that they do have control of their areas.
Don't let one or two nay sayers convince you that the deer you choose to or not to shoot does make a difference. We are in this together, hunters, farmers, loggers & tree huggers, we all have a say, please use yours wisely.
