I am not a trophy hunter - can't eat horns. So, as the man said, "If it brown its down".

Got a 2F a 2D and several 2B's as well as 2 DMAP tags for 2F.

I'll scout ahead of time in all of them and will hunt and kill does where I believe deer numbers are high enough. I won't hunt does and neither will my sons where we see that numbers low. Not very scientific but we know our hunting grounds well enough to make that judgement. There are some parts of each WMU that I have tags for where I won't kill does either by landowner request or by personal assessment.

I also hunt Illinois and often get a couple there.

Both my sons will be hunting. The family can use up to around 8 or 9 and when we've hit that number, we will stop shooting does unless we're still seeing a good surplus and we have requests from friends and family for a deer.

I've never met Doug, but bet you could eat 3 or 4 all by yourself, even if it took ya a few days?

True enough but as I recall, you look like you are no stranger to processing the groceries either

1 doe max; for me no need to take more then I can use just me and the wife that enjoy the venison.
I will say the doe will be taken during the bow season or late M/l season

With luck the day will come that you realize that there is so much more to deer hunting.

True dat and proud of it.

A man's gotta eat! I've been know to even share a time or two, usually when the dog starts to growl near the dinner table.

Time to get me some venison in the freezer again, this fall.
